How to install WordPress in cPanel

WordPress, the most used CMS for blogs till date. Many peoples prefer to choose WordPress for their websites due to its easy to use interface and good features. Well, before starting a site with WordPress you will need to have WordPress installed in your Hosting / Server. In this tutorial we will install a WordPress in a Hosting with cPanel and Softaculous.

Softaculous is a Auto Installer for cPanel, Plesk, DirectAdmin, etc. It has 400+ great scripts to get installed with one-click. Many Shared Hosting service providers includes this in their hosting control panel. If your hosting provider includes Softaculous then it will be easy to install WordPress for you.

Before we start make sure you have a domain pointed to your hosting server.

Step 1: Login to cPanel

First of all, you will need to login to your cPanel account. If you don't have login credential of cPanel you can ask your Hosting Provider to provide it.

Step 2: Go to Softaculous Apps Installer

In most of cPanel you will find this section at the bottom of your cPanel account. You will see WordPress icon, click on it.

Step 3: Click on Install Now

Once you click WordPress icon in Softaculous section, you will be redirected to Softaculous page where you will need to click on Install Now button to proceed to installation.

Step 4: Configure Installation Settings

In the next you will see to configure your WordPress installation settings. The setting is quite easy. You will need to take care for some like Domain, Directory.

The first setting "Choose Protocol" will allow if you want to use http, https, http with WWW or https with WWW.

In the "Choose Domain" you will need to select the domain in which you wish to install WordPress.

Jumping to next "In Directory", its a optional field which will help if you want to install WordPress in some directory, for example if you install in "wp" directory the site URL will look like - "http://domain.tld/wp"

The rest setting is related to your site and admin login details which you can configure easily. (You can check this settings later too)

Step 5: Install WordPress

Once all setup, simply click on "Install Now" button at the bottom of the page. It will start installation process which will take just few seconds and you will see something like this on successful installation.

And their you go! Job done! You will be able to access your WordPress site and admin panel.
